Kiran Chawla is an award-winning investigative reporter, who launched a 100% digital news organization in 2021 called Unfiltered with Kiran. After spending nearly 20 years working in mainstream media, it all came to an abrupt end on June 9, 2020 when she was terminated. In the height of Covid, it was difficult to find a job as the market was on a hiring freeze and the world was shut down with everyone working from home. The idea was in her mind that news consumption has changed and so many people are getting news right in their hands via a cell phone now. They're not reading it from a paper as much and they're not even watching traditional TV news. So June 9, 2021, she launched Unfiltered with Kiran, with a website and uses all social media platforms to drive traffic back to the website. The following year, the company launched an app for cell phones on the Google & Android shops. Now, the company has an entire staff including interns to guide young mind for the future journalism world. They produce daily news, breaking stories, documentaries and deep-dive investigations that get results. They have won Emmy's, Tellys and multiple national Edward R. Murrows. Kiran's main message to anyone with a dream is simply to take a chance & bet on yourself!
